Small Halls was again a great success. Hosted by Woodfordia Inc and the Beltana Progress Association. 80 people attended for what was a wonderful night. Ninety percent of the feedback rated the event as excellent! We look forward to next year.
Historic Photography Project
The Beltana Progress Association, in conjunction with the Cultural Heritage and Arts Regional Tourism Program, has purchased equipment to digitally capture and display photographs from private collections. In time, the collection will be available permanently on our website and be a major input to the towns sequi centenary in 2023.
We have collated a small selection of scanned photographs which has been viewed in the hall during our most recent arts event.
People were very interested in the photographs, intently studying them to work out where they were compared to today’s landscape. A number of the audience expressed interest in providing their own photographs to be scanned into the collection which will allow it to increase in value and usefulness over time.
If you are interested in contributing to this project, contact the Beltana Progress Association for more information.

Exciting things happening in Beltana
There are some big changes afoot for Beltana and the sign below is one of the clues as to what has us so excited.
Our road is being sealed, thanks to funding secured by the Outback Communities Authority and the Department of Infrastructure and Transport.
If you drive down the Outback Highway you will notice a huge pile of gravel at the racecourse and this is only the beginning.

Rains, Flooded Creeks and Full Dam!
While the rain came down all over the Outback, Beltana was lucky to get 66mm, have a big flood of Warrioota and Graham’s Creeks and most importantly the weir in Graham’s Creek worked like a charm and the Railway Dam was filled to capacity with the water backing up along the channel back to the creek and looking spectacular.
We hope that everyone stayed safe and dry while this welcome rain came down and we look forward to some follow up in the next few weeks.
